Rylie is very into going on "adventures" as she calls them. Be it in the backyard or someplace special, she's very into being outside and exploring. So, on April 6th (yes I'm that far behind on the blog yet again!), we went to McConnell's Mills State Park for an "adventure." It's a beautiful state park about half an hour from us with many hiking trails, picnic areas, lots of water and even a covered bridge. It's a huge park, so we picked a half mile trail called Hell Falls. We figured that would be a good place to start. Grammie came with us and so did our friends Tim and Maya. It was a beautiful, warm sunny day and the girls had a ball. They followed the trail and LOVED seeing the little river that it followed. We crossed bridges, climbed out on rocks, threw rocks into the river, explored moss, threw leaves into the air and even climbed into an old lime kiln. It was great and the scenery was beautiful! Once we finished the "hike" we had a picnic lunch before venturing home. We wanted to stop at the covered bridge, but the girls were too tired, so we will conquer that another day. I STILL haven't figured out how to do a slide show without crashing the computer, so here are a few of my favorite pictures from that day. We plan to go on many more adventures this spring and summer!

That sounds like a wonderful day! Don't you just love state parks?
Have you tried embedding a Picasa slide show? But the way you did it looked great.
These are the 'adventures' that we miss with all of you, but we are delighted that you had a wonderful day with Anna as well as Tim and Maya.
Bradford has always loved the outdoors and maybe your girls will enjoy hiking and camping as much as he always did.
But no matter what or where, 'adventures' always make great memories..... and pictures!
