Halloween was very busy for us this year. We had a party at a friend's house, trick-or-treating one afternoon at the Pittsburgh zoo, Rylie had a party at school and then a little parade and program of songs that the parents got to see and then of course trick-or-treating in the neighborhood. Rylie was Barbie Princess Liana from the movie Barbie and the Diamond Castle and Chloe was a mouse. They were both adorable and had lots of fun. We made Halloween cookies and frosted them and they helped me get the treats ready for the trick-or-treaters. Our friend Maya wanted her dad, Tim to be the yellow light of a traffic light and her mom, Susie to be the red light, so Brad was voted the green light. I borrowed an old costume of Susie's so that I could be Chloe's "Mommy mouse." Grammie was a "Hawaiian Grammie." The girls were very into trick-0r-treating. Chloe wouldn't let us help her carry her bag until she had literally worn a hole in it from dragging it on the ground! There were also many funny moments on Halloween. At one house, they had a sloped front walk with no steps at all. TJ thought it was a slide and all the kids slid down it! We were all hysterical, as was the family whose house we were at! Here are a few more funny phrases, all from Chloe. Rylie was too busy running from house to house to say much else!
"I'm going to come back here next year!"
"I love this!
"Rylie, don't forget to say thank you!"
"Grammie, come on! It's time to leave and go to the next house now."
They have set trick-or-treating hours down here and it was from 6-8, so we started in the light and ended in the dark. They came home and dumped all their candy on the table and we let them eat some, watch a show and go to bed. Saturday they had a few pieces and then really didn't ask for much more after that. It was fun and they already can't wait for next year!
