We all had a wonderful Christmas! On Christmas Eve, we went to our friends Tim and Susie's for a traditional snack and drink. Then we came home and got dressed up to go to church. We had to sit on the floor, even though we were there over half an hour early, but the girls did great. Then we came home and had dinner (sloppy joes in the crockpot!) and the girls had baths. Then they wrote their letter to Santa and put out cookies and water (Rylie said he woulnd't like old milk) for Santa and oats and carrots for the reindeer. Rylie made it until 7:30 Christmas morning and Chloe until 7:45. They were totally into presents this year and it took them exactly 37 minutes to tear into everything! They had fun and were very excited with their gifts. It was a very Barbie Christmas for Rylie and a very "mousey" Christmas for Chloe. They also got some My Little Pony things and Chloe got her own Leapster. We had to laugh at Brad. He was in the playroom sitting in the middle of our playroom, surrounded by Barbie boxes and covered in glitter. It was too funny! And the worst part for him was that after he got all the boxes opened and toys set up, Barbie was nothing that he was interested in playing with. We just had a very casual day and hung around in comfies. We made stuffed shells for dinner and just relaxed. It was a wonderful day. On the 26th, Grammy Liz and Grampy Bud came down to visit and have a second Christmas with us. The girls didn't know they were coming and were totally surprised and very excited! They played and opened more presents and just had so much fun with them. On that Saturday we all went to the zoo. It was sunny and 73 degrees and I refused to waste the day inside. It was gorgeous and we had a great time. That night we cooked a ham for our second Christmas dinner. They spent Sunday morning with us and then, unfortunately, they had to head back to Maine. It was hard to see them go, but we are so thankful that they made the trip down to see us for Christmas.
I did the best I could with pictures. The girls were ripping things open so fast that it was hard to get good pictures. Brad got the whole thing on video, which is great, but the pictures are lacking.
